1920s Music

1920s music can be divided into 4 principle types of songs characterizing that period of time in Americana:

I. Songs Composed in the 1920s.
Usual 20's rhythm is evident in these songs. They are, for the most part, jumpy, and perhaps danceable, but certainly not like the Big Band rhythm of the 1940's and 1950's.

II. Songs very popular in the 1920's, but composed prior to 1920. (1900 - 1920)

III. Songs composed in the 1920's, but very danceable and so were also carried over into the 1930's and even into the 40's and 50's.

IV. Songs popular in the 1920s that were composed prior to 1900.
Many of these have the jumpy and choppy rhythm of the typical 1920's songs.
